About the XML Compare
Compare two XML documents element by element instead of line by line. Attribute order, indentation and the order of repeated elements do not count as changes; repeated elements are paired by an attribute such as id, and every difference is reported with an XPath-like location, such as /catalog/book[@id="b1"]/price/text().
How to use it
- Paste or open the original and the changed XML.
- Adjust options: whitespace, comments, namespaces, match attribute.
- Press Compare and filter the added, removed and changed nodes.
Frequently asked questions
- Can it ignore namespace prefixes?
- Yes. With that option on, s:Envelope and soap:Envelope compare as the same element.
- What if repeated elements have no id?
- They are paired by position. Set the match attribute to another attribute, or leave it empty to always use position.
- Is my XML uploaded?
- No. Everything runs in your browser tab with JavaScript. Nothing you enter is uploaded, logged or stored, and the page works offline once loaded.
