About the URL Encoder & Parser

Frequently asked questions
- encodeURIComponent or encodeURI?
- Use component encoding for a single query value or path segment; it escapes &, =, / and ?. Use full URI encoding only for a whole URL whose structure must stay intact.
- Why does + turn into a space?
- In query strings (application/x-www-form-urlencoded), + means a space. The component decoder treats it that way.
- Is my URL uploaded?
- No. Everything runs in your browser tab with JavaScript. Nothing you enter is uploaded, logged or stored, and the page works offline once loaded.
