About the Timestamp Converter
Convert epoch timestamps to human-readable dates and back. The unit (seconds, milliseconds, microseconds or nanoseconds) is detected from the size of the number, and results are shown in ISO 8601, RFC 2822, your local time, relative time and major time zones.
How to use it
- Paste a timestamp or a date.
- Check the detected unit.
- Copy the format you need.
Frequently asked questions
- Is a Unix timestamp in seconds or milliseconds?
- Unix time is seconds since 1970-01-01 UTC. JavaScript and many APIs use milliseconds (13 digits); the converter detects which you pasted.
- What is the year 2038 problem?
- Signed 32-bit seconds overflow on 2038-01-19 at 03:14:07 UTC. Use 64-bit timestamps to avoid it.
- Does it use my time zone?
- It shows UTC, your local time zone and several others side by side.
